Another Saturday

We are social creatures by nature, seeking friendships and searching out love for one another in our weary stances. Developing support systems within ourselves and trying our best to create an environment that will encourage the reminder of pleasure to Allaah, through constant ibaadah. One of which is loving for the sake of Allaah.

"On the Day of Judgement, Allah, ta'ala, will announce, 'Where are those who love each other for the sake of My pleasure? This day I am going to shelter them in the shade provided by Me. Today there is no shade except My shade." (Muslim)

One more day out with the girls... usually after Saturday classes but unfortunately our classes were canceled this week by unseen circumstances. We decided to go on our rendezvous anyway, enduring the cold chilly weather and enjoy our sisterhood. Let me offer a brief history. After several pleas, bargaining and outright temper tantrums; the women at our local masjid convinced the Imam to offer the women classes. The choice of book we're studying from is al Wajibaat al Mutahattamaat al Ma'rifah 'alaa Kulli Muslim wa Muslimah - The Obligatory Matters Necessary for Every Muslim and Muslimah To Have Knowledge of. Maa shaa Allaah. We have had our regular attendees and our sporadic showers - however we always try to end class by enjoining the good upon one another and building our sisterhood.

Every Saturday after class (and after Dhuhr) we all decide on a place to go out and eat, majority rules with exception for dietary preferences *wink*. Taking certain cares to maintain our modesty, not drawing excess attention to ourselves (hard to do in niqab, LOL!) and trying to show good behaviors of the believing women. In our garments, we are a form of dawah - radiant and beautiful. There are a range of restaurants in our area that we've visited from Kabob Place in Northern VA to Red Lobster's in Silver Spring... each day ending with sister's smiling and stomachs full. This week was Pizzeria Uno's. What possessed me to order a pizza (after eating pizza just the night before), I can't begin to explain. Even still the conversation was enlightening, the sisterhood was refreshing and watching my daughter (who rarely comes out with us) partake in the festivities was extremely inspirational. I'm so glad she could see the truth of womanhood, developing a role of loving her sisters in Islaam and encouraging good actions.

"The Muslims in their mutual love, kindness and compassion are like the human body where when one of its parts is in agony the entire body feels the pain, both in sleeplessness and fever." (Bukhari and Muslim)
